Four new ultraportable notebooks from Asus
Asus has had a busy day today at IFA. Not only has it ripped the wrappers off a brace of Vivo Tab slates, it’s also shown off four new ultraportable notebooks.
Top of the heap is the Zenbook U500VZ, a 19.7mm-thick 15-incher with a full HD screen, full-size keyboard, Intel i7 quad-core processor and the option for Nvidia GT650M graphics and up to 512GB of SSD storage (you can also combine a 128GB SSD with a 500GB hard drive if you wish).
Next down the range is the Zenbook Prime UX21A Touch, which (yep, you guessed it) boasts a multitouch screen. It can have up to 256GB SSD storage.
The Asus Taichi features a double-sided display: open it up and it’s a standard notebook with keyboard; close it and it’s a multitouch tablet. In a similar vein is the Transformer Book, which features a screen that can be detached from the keyboard, transforming into a tablet.
No prices or release dates have been announced yet.

Hmmmmm i7 + 650m graphics = a lot of heat.
I wonder how well it'll cope with it especially being less than 2CM thick.
That said, if this has a backlit keyboard it's almost exactly the spec that I'm looking for!
