German site digitalkamera.de has outed both the Sony a850 and a500 after a tip off, the former set to be a small full-frame entry level DSLR with 24.6 megapixels, 3-inch screen and a shooting speed of 3fps, and the latter a cheaper option with 12.3 megapixels, Live View and a faster shooting speed of 5fps.
The full-frame a850 will will reportedly cost a rather reasonable €2,000 and will hit shelves in September, while the a500 will set you back €650.
Adding its two pence to the whispers, PhotoRumours is also reporting Sony has an a550 snapper up its sleeve. The website saw it cropped up on a German website priced at €749 for body only, or €849 complete with a 18-55mm lens.
We'll be keeping our eye out for more solid details come the end of the week, and will of course keep you in the loop with everything Sony announces – with any luck they'll have improved on the A380 from earlier in the year that only managed 3 stars in our review.
Until then, be sure to tell us about your experiences with the previous Sony Alpha cameras, and what you're hoping for from the forthcoming models.
