The new Sony Alpha DSLRs that we peeked earlier this week have arrived – the 24.6MP Sony a850, the 12.3MP Sony a500 and the Sony 14.2MP a550. The Sony a850 will be with us in September (with an additional 28-75mm lens coming in November). Meanwhile both the Sony a500 and the Sony a550 will arrive in October.

The Sony a850’s the most serious of the bunch with a 2in LCD joining its optical glass pentaprism viewfinder (we just like the way that sounds).

The a850 also has advanced anti-shake skills and 9-point auto-focus. It’s a brutish looking beast with a rugged shell to let you swing it around in tough situations and takes Sony Memory Sticks up to 32GB capacity.

It’s less feature packed friends, the Sony a500 and the Sony a550 both have their charms. The Sony a500 and a550 will both grab 5fps in continuous shooting mode and the a550 will up the ante with 7fps with its ‘Speed Priority’ mode. While the Sony a500 has a fixed 3in LCD screen, the Sony a550 has a tilting LCD screen.

So DSLR fans, what do you think of the latest clutch of snappers from Sony? Any of them take your fancy?
