Sky bumps up Anytime+ library to over 1000 movies

Fans of pay as you go movie streaming now have more choice on Sky – that'll keep its rivals happy

Everyone seems to have their own movie streaming service these days – and Sky is no exception. Sky’s Anytime+ service, which lets you pay for individual films as you rent them, has been pretty heavily expanded and now has over 1000 titles, a mix of new releases and cheaper ‘library’ movies from 99p.

New releases will cost you £3.50 in SD and £4 in HD but come with the added bonus of being available to watch on the same day as their DVD or Blu-ray release. And all those Hollywood stars will be neatly wrapped in a new Sky Store that’s kicked out Sky Box Office. Plus it’s compatible with Sky Go on your laptop, iPad, iPhone and some Android phones.

Sky plans to roll out Sky Anytime+ to anyone with a Sky+HD box by Easter – quickly getting rid of any incentive for Sky customers to fork out for another subscription service, eh?
