OnePlus 15 gets the green light for US launch

The OnePlus 15 is all cleared for a release in the United States after a short delay owing to the entire US government acting like children.

OnePlus 15 review lead

The OnePlus 15 smartphone has finally been cleared for launch in the United States following a delay in certification from the country’s tech regulator.

When the new flagship OnePlus 15 handset was launched around the world earlier this month, the company was unable to reveal US sales arrangements due to the government shutdown handicapping the Federal Communications Commission’s ability to give the smartphone the all clear.

Thankfully, that messy situation came to an end on November 12 after much handwringing and, a little after two weeks on the FCC has managed to get the certificate signed off on. Granted on November 25, the certification was spotted by a Reddit user so Android Authority chased it up with the company. OnePlus confirmed it.

“The OnePlus 15 has received FCC certification in the United States,” the company said in a statement. “More information about when the device will be available for purchase in the U.S. will be shared very soon.” We’re yet to receive a release date for the phone as yet, but it’s welcome news from OnePlus.

We’ve already reviewed the UK version of the OnePlus 15 and have dubbed it the “Android phone to beat” in 2026. It arrives toting top tier performance thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and an enormous 7300mAh cell. And, it continues the trend of undercutting big Android rivals when it comes to price.

Our reviewer gave the OnePlus 15 a five-star review, confirming: “There’s not really a box the OnePlus 15 doesn’t tick. It’s a top performer, lasts absolutely ages, has competitive cameras, and looks every bit the flagship device. Unless you’re heavily invested in either Samsung or Google’s ecosystems, I think you’ll struggle to find anything to really grumble about here… If the competition wasn’t on notice before, it absolutely should be now.”
