Bush E3X – this British OnePlus 3 rival boasts a 21.5MP camera
Sizzling specs and handsome design suggest this might prove a budget favourite

A smartphone from Bush, makers of my gran’s dusty old clock radio? Be still my beating heart.
Yeah, we know – Bush isn’t exactly a hot brand these days. But take off your snobbery hat for a minute, because this phone looks seriously impressive for its price tag.
I’m listening…
Called the E3X, it’s basically a British take on the OnePlus 3‘s approach. In other words, “Let’s deliver flagship-beating specs at a third the price of most flagships.”
Despite being only £199, the E3X sports a 64-bit octa-core Mediatek processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage (if you don’t use the microSD slot, it can house a second SIM), a 3000mAh battery and a 1920 x 1080 screen.
There’s also Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a fingerprint sensor and a USB-C port. But its crowning glory might be its 21.5MP rear-facing camera, which is backed up with an 8MP wide-angle front-facer for selfies.

Whoa, now I’m really listening. When and where can I buy it?
You’re not beating around the Bush anymore, are you? It’s exclusive to Argos, and will be on sale from 5 August.
Will it turn out to be a better bet than the £329 OnePlus 3? Look out for our full review soon.
