A new Siri update could have one killer feature, making it more useful than ever

Apple’s assistant is tipped to land with a very handy skill

Siri Apple Intelligence

If you’re an iPhone or iPad user, chances are you’ve asked Siri to do two things in one request, before watching it completely ignore the second half. Thankfully, Apple might finally be sorting that out.

According to Bloomberg (via MacRumors), the version of Siri in iOS 27 could handle multiple requests in a single command. You could potentially, for example, ask for directions and have them sent to someone in one go, instead of breaking the task into two separate requests.

It might sound basic, but for Siri it’s been a long-standing weakness. Right now, most requests are handled one at a time, which turns anything slightly complex into a stop-start exchange.

This upgrade appears to be part of Apple’s wider Apple Intelligence push, and the company is reportedly working on making Siri far more capable overall, like better awareness of what’s on your screen, the ability to carry out actions across multiple apps, and access to the web to summarise information – something Apple could apparently brand as World Knowledge Answers.

There are also signs that Apple wants Siri to evolve into something closer to a chatbot-style assistant. The company is reportedly developing a standalone Siri app for more conversational interactions, while still keeping the assistant deeply integrated across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.

Elsewhere, Apple is testing an AI-powered keyboard that could suggest grammar fixes and alternative phrasing as you type – though it’s not confirmed if that’ll make the iOS 27 cut.

We should hear more at WWDC 2026 in June, with a broader rollout likely tied to iOS 27 later in the year. As with earlier Apple Intelligence features, some upgrades may arrive later or launch with a Preview tag while Apple irons things out.

If it all lands as planned, this could be the update that finally makes Siri feel less rigid, and more useful. Watch this space.
