Orient’s new vibrant Stretto watches are perfect for summer (when it finally arrives)
Orient's new Stretto watches burst onto the scene in a riot colour, proving that mechanical watchmaking doesn't have to be drab
Orient is expanding its Stretto line. The Japanese watchmaker has added ten new watch models to the contemporary collection, and they’re arguably the most eye-catching models in its range.
The new arrivals split into two families. Five Orient Stretto Date models arrive with vivid pop and metallic-themed dials, and five Orient Stretto Day & Night models join them, including a striking multicolour showpiece.
The Stretto name comes from an Italian musical term describing a quickening of tempo toward a dramatic climax. It’s an apt name, as these watches feel bold and urgent.
The Date models measure 38.5mm across (a perfect, wearable size, in my opinion). Their dials feature a sunburst finish with a distinctive arc, and wedge-shaped indices that echo city skyscrapers.
The Spring-Summer colours are green, blue, pink, and orange. Each is super vivid, with my favourite being the orange.
A limited edition rounds out the Date lineup. With 2300 pieces featuring an embossed stripe pattern with a vertical blue gradation. It’s the one to buy if you want something a little more special.

The Day & Night models are more varied. Two come in steel cases with gold or rose gold plating. Two more offer clean stainless steel in green or navy.
The standout, though, is the 2026 Spring-Summer model (pictured above). It throws all four seasonal colours onto a single dial — orange concentric circles, a pink minute scale, a green second hand, and a blue day-and-night display at four o’clock showing sun and moon motifs. It’s very fun.
All models run on Orient’s automatic movement with hand-winding. Power reserve is 40 hours, with accuracy of +25 to -15 seconds per day. Water resistance reaches 5 bar, and a sapphire crystal protects the dial.
The Stretto watches are available now. The Stretto Date is priced at US$505 / £349.99. The Stretto Day & Night starts at US$560 / £439.99.
