If you take a look round the back, you’ll see a cranking handle to provide power, suggesting

the person who owns this radio is conscious of the environment. However, winding for a

couple of minutes gives only about five minutes of DAB reception, so this person is either a

masochistic fitness freak or prefers the FM tuner, which is easier on the power. Either

way, they aren’t too worried about sound quality, as the mono speaker spits rather than

soothes or excites.

This wind-up as to be a wind-up. Why bother with DAB if you spend almost as much time cranking as you do listening?
