TAG Heuer’s latest Formula 1 watch gets a stunning Gulf livery

TAG Heuer has launched the Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf, the fourth watch born from this partnership, and, personally, my favourite in the current Formula 1 lineup.

You’ll know Gulf’s blue and orange livery even if you’ve never followed motorsport closely. It’s the colour scheme that made Steve McQueen’s Porsche 917 in Le Mans instantly iconic, and it’s barely changed since.

TAG Heuer has applied that history straight onto the dial. Gulf’s stripes cut vertically into the black opalin, with a blue lacquered track running round the edge. It’s not exactly subtle, but it works.

Three chronograph counters sit on the dial – a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock, and a permanent seconds indicator at 9 o’clock.

The hour and minute hands are partially skeletonised too, which keeps legibility intact despite the busy dial underneath.

The bezel is forged carbon with a tachymeter scale and “GULF” printed round it. I really like the forged carbon, it looks very sporty. No two bezels come out looking identical, thanks to the way the material forms during production.

An orange joint sits below the bezel and you get an orange lacquered crown as well, both fun little pops of colour.

Power comes from TAG Heuer’s in-house Caliber 16, an automatic chronograph movement.

The case measures 44mm and is made from sandblasted Grade 2 titanium. That should keep it feeling lighter on the wrist than its size suggests.

Flip it over and there’s a Gulf logo engraved on the caseback, along with “ONE OF 1000.” Because, yes, this is a limited edition.

Water resistance comes in at 200 metres, which is plenty for a watch that’s far more likely to see a track day than the bottom of the ocean.

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Automatic Chronograph x Gulf is available from 3 July, 2026. It’s priced at US$6300 and £5350 in the UK.
