Devialet 110: the world’s most beautiful amp just got more affordable

This sleek slab of high-end audio costs 60 per cent less than its mould-breaking predecessor

High-end audio is one area where, historically, function has always led form.

French manufacturer Devialet succeeded in curbing that trend with last year’s D-Premier, a gorgeous 240W-per-channel amplifier constructed from a single block of aluminium and a mere 32mm thick. Problem was, it cost £11,450.

Lightweight and wall-mountable

But the company is back with the Devialet 110 which, while it could hardly be described as entry-level, is far more affordable at £4,490. Made, again, from a single milled piece of aluminium, it’s almost as thin (40mm) and light (5.65kg) as the D-Premier, meaning that it can be wall-mounted vertically.

On the spec front it offers 110W per channel, support for high resolution audio, one phono and two S/PDIF digital inputs as well as Ethernet and USB for connecting modern sources and running services like Spotify, Deezer and Pandora through the system, not to mention adding regular firmware updates.

Just one of three new models

You can also add a wireless Devialet Air module for an extra £1,000, which enables high resolution 192kHz streaming from any Windows or Mac computer.

You can read more about the Devialet 110 and the two new pricier models, the 170 and 240, at the firm’s site, and order a unit through sole UK distributor Absolute Sounds.
