Sky's Now TV on-demand service launches on Xbox

Not a Sky subscriber but want to get to all those early released films? Xbox has you covered with Now TV

Sky's Now TV – the movies on demand service that doesn’t require a Sky subscription – has launched on Xbox 360. You can even download the app and try it for free for 30 days.

Sky's attempting to steal a march on streaming rivals Netflix or Lovefilm fanatic – and it has a big advantage in that Sky gets films in early. For £15 per month you get access to all 11 Sky Movies channels and a catalogue of over 1000 on demand flicks from 99p to £3.50. And you can even access it all using your Kinect.

The only downside is that Now TV will only stream at 720i – although if your connection isn’t tip-top this’ll be ideal, especially as the Xbox upscales video anyway.

But with Sky adding Sky Sports and other channels like Sky Atlantic, to Now TV, it might be worth waiting a month or two before cashing in that free 30-day pass.
