Sony buys Ericsson for US$1.45 billion

Following rumours of a buy out earlier this month, Sony has now officially bought out Ericsson’s mobile phone venture for a cool US$1.45 billion. The buy out gives Sony access to Ericsson's handset patents – and gives Sony an opportunity to more closely integrate its phones with its tablets, games and electronics devices.
Sony CEO Howard Stringer stated that the deal will enable Sony to offer consumers “… smartphones, laptops, tablets and televisions that seamlessly connect with one another and open up new worlds of online entertainment”.
The deal should give the Japanese tech giant much greater control over their device ecosystem, offering an Apple-like consistency and control between their tablets, mobile devices, televisions and games consoles.
Trusted Reviews has tweeted that Stringer has confirmed a brand change is also in the works and that it’s unlikely to just be ‘Sony’. We’ll find out for sure later today when Sony’s press conference is wrapped up.

I wonder how long it will take before Apple & Samsung decide to take legal action against Sony for infringing on some of their phone patents?

Sony is a leading brand in the world. This move is a great news but what exactly are going to be the implications in the market is not very clear. Technologically this is going to revolutionize the current scenario. I was looking for information on lcd panel manufacturers when I came across this post.

Sony will position it as the next technology back-illuminated CMOS graphic alerts, and unwaveringly make the effort to further create this graphic indicator and increase its product collection, thereby leading to the further progression of user-friendly cams and to firing pleasure. fix a xbox
