LG takes on Siri with Quick Voice – in Korea

20 Jun 2012

LG Quick Voice Optimus Siri S Voice

Smartphone giants are determined to get us chatting to our phones (friend or family member not required) whether we want to or not. LG's Quick Voice has just been announced for Optimus handsets in Korea and we wouldn't be too surprised if a global rollout followed later in the year for the likes of the Optimus 4X HD.

Quick Voice will use natural language processing to work out what you need your LG phone to do – for now that means setting alarms, making calls, sending emails and updating your calendar.

Talkative Koreans will also be able to search the web and use maps and weather apps with Quick Voice but local business search (Quick Voice, where can I get some tomato soup in Seoul?) hasn't been mentioned yet.

Hold onto your hats virtual keyboards, it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
