Panasonic debuts PZ81 Freesat telly

Freesat is coming, and to quench our thirst for subscription-free HD telly and avoid clogging our living room with another set-top box, we've got our

Following hot on the heels of Sony's new HD Freeview LCDs, the new 1080p PZ81 plasma (pictured) is the first Freesat-capable gogglebox in the country.

On-sale in June, all three sizes (42, 46 and 50in) will come stuffed with the tech you need to pick up Freesat signals – except the dish, of course, that'd be madness.

On telly terms, it's not to be sniffed at either: Full HD resolution, 24p playback, 3x HDMI and an SD card slot for displaying pics and vids straight off your memory card. Apparently the display is lead-free, too, in an attempt to help Mother Nature, so humping it from the boot of your motor into the living room should be that little bit easier.

One of these and a crate of beers and we're all set for the most enjoyable, worry-free Euro Championships for years – and in glorious hi-def. Cheers!
