Poll – Will you be buying a Sony PSP 2 (aka NGP)?
This year promises to be boom town for mobile gaming. In March we'll receive Nintendo's 3DS, then just before Christmas the most powerful handheld ever made, Sony's NGP, will be arriving to make us miss buses and ignore our smartphones. But will you be saving your pennies and buying Sony's next-generation portable when it launches? Or is Apple's App Store and the promise of PlayStation Suite for Android phones enough to sate your mobile gaming needs?
Vote and leave your comments below, and they could appear in the April issue of Stuff (on shelves on 3rd March).

Gaming on a smartphone is Barbie. Gaming on a quad-core pocket console is Action Man. For now...

I simply don't have room in my bag for another device. iPad/smartphone gaming for me... for the foreseeable.

As ever, it's going to depend on the games. The great games on PSP have been truly great, but they've been few and far between.

I think part of the reason why iPhone gaming has taken off is because people can do it surreptitiously while pretending to reply to important emails.
Big, dedicated handhelds like the NGP just aren't as socially acceptable, and not everyone is prepared to wear their geekery with pride.

Unless iPhone 5 is an iFlop (which I somewhat doubt this time), I've got no reason to switch.
I've got over 100 apps and 100s of apple DRMed videos so switching would be a pain.
And lets not forget 300,000 apps (and counting) plus some proper games like Real Racing 2, COD: Zombies, NOVA and more coming soon.
Apple will also reward us with iPhone 5 well before the PSP2 and a typical free software update for us current users.
Why upgrade to another new platform and rebuy your games/apps when there on your phone with direct access to free podcasts, apps etc with music, films and more just being a tap and Wi Fi/3G Hotspot away.

I'm all for convergence, but sometimes you want something else to muck about with that's not your face-greasy, buttock-warm, ever-present phone. Proper controls, better graphics and awesome games are going to make the NGP a hit.
