Fujifilm FinePix X100 takes on the Leica X1

21 Sep 2010

Leaping aboard the retro bandwagon, Fujifilm has whipped out its FinePix X100 compact to rival the old-school-alike Leica X1 and Olympus Pen series.

Styled like a rangefinder camera from yesteryear, the X100 has an SLR-sized APS-C sensor (12.3MP) and a fixed 35mm-equivalent lens with a super-fast maximum aperture of f2. Don't worry, that just means it's great in low light.

The price is yet to be announced, but expect it to be eye watering. We should be seeing the X100 on the shelves of only the finest establishments in the new year.
