iPad Mini and iPad 4 will hit EE's UK 4G network

The new iPad Mini and iPad 4 look set to join the rank of EE's UK 4G compatible devices after the EE logo was spotted in an Apple presentation slide by ZDNet.

Good news for speed demons and early adopters, but not so good if you want the option to switch to upcoming 4G services by other carriers like Vodafone or O2.

That's because neither the iPad Mini or iPad 4 support the 800MHz or 2600MHz bands that will be used by other networks, although those looking in Three's direction might be in luck as its service will be on the same band as EE's.

It's the same situation that faces iPhone 5 owners, though we expect to see newer models of all three 4G iDevices hitting shelves when other networks join the 4G party.
