Windows 7 has already impressed us with its slimmed down style and fast boot up times. But it looks as if it's about to make its way into the vast world of netbooks too, with Microsoft inviting beta testers to try out a 'specialised version' of the OS.

The new version, already dubbed Windows 7 Lite, is said to be designed for machines running 1GB of RAM with a 1GHz processor. That'd be a netbook then.
