Achingly expensive phone-maker, Vertu, is not one to let an opportunity like Ferrari’s 60th anniversary to pass by un-marketed. Having already rolled out the Ascent Ferrari 1947 Limited Edition, it’s now made just five dozen of the appropriately named Ascent Ferrari 60.It’s modelled on Ferrari’s recent 612 Scaglietti – that’s ‘Skal-yeti’ if your mamma makes pasta and ‘Skaggly’etty’ if you buy it from Iceland. It’s the one Clarkson drove to Verbier on Top Gear while racing May on the train and Hammond in a light aircraft. Jeremy won, incidentally.Given that the 612 is only the second all-aluminium car to wear the prancing horse badge, the 60 is naturally made from, er, titanium, but it does get coated in the same leather as the car’s seats and, bizarrely, the same cross-head screws as the 612’s.Pricing is in the if-you-need-to-ask-you-can’t-afford category but you do get a natty presentation box and a valve from a Ferrari F1 car thrown in. We hear McLaren’s been buying them up in numbers.EssentialsVertu Ascent Ferrari 60Price: £POAOn sale: Now Contact: VertuRelated stories:Vertu revs up a Ferrari handsetBuild your own Ferrari – in LegoMotorsport boxset is Vertu-al insanity
