Sony Vaio JS1 squares up to iMac

Apple's already got an iMac–sized headache in the form of the awesome HP TouchSmart series. And now Sony is about to add to their woes with thei

It’s a super–sleek all–in–one with specs that should make the mostdiehard of PC fan somewhat moist this late September morning. Inside the slinky frame you get a massive 500GB hard drive, 3GB of RAM and an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. That’s on top of a DVD writer, Wi–Fi and Vista Home Premium.

Sony’s clearly touting this as a movie buffs machine, with a 20.1in screen, Dolby Home Theatre and SACD playback. the only thing that’s missing is a dash of Blu–Ray – but being Sony we’re sure that’ll get fixed in the future.

The Apple comparisons aren’t going to go away mind – that keyboard looks distinctly like the one we tickle on a daily basis on our iMac. That said, it’s still a beast and we’re gagging to get hold of one. Sadly Sony’s saying nothing about when it’ll land or how much it’ll cost.

We’re off to check out some more Vaio goodies this afternoon, so keep it locked for more as we get it.
