Samsung smart glasses leak – would you wear them?

Those looking for some of the best wearables with their face (rather than smartwatches) in mind may be pleased to hear that Samsung smart glasses are back in the spotlight – and this latest leak gives us a much clearer idea of what Samsung might actually be building.

Images shared by Android Headlines appear to show the so-called Samsung Galaxy Glasses in full – and they look far more like a normal pair of specs than a futuristic headset.

Look closer, though, and you’ll spot the key detail – cameras embedded on the front of the frame – putting them in the same category as Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, suggesting that Samsung is focusing on hands-free photo and video capture, rather than trying to go all-in on augmented reality from day one.

The glasses will reportedly also be powered by Google Gemini, unlocking a world of AI recognition, translation, and other AI assistant shenanigans.

The first version of Samsung’s smart glasses – reportedly codenamed “Jinju” – is expected to launch without a display entirely, which would make it more of a smart companion device than a true AR platform. Pricing is tipped to land somewhere between $379 and $499.

A second, more advanced model is also said to be in development. Codenamed “Haean”, that version could include a micro-LED display, hinting at proper AR ambitions further down the line.

For now, though, Samsung smart glasses look like they’re taking the same route we’ve already seen gaining traction, with a familiar design, built-in cameras, and a focus on AI-powered everyday features. With rumours of Apple smart glasses also in the works, we could be seeing them perched on more people’s faces in the near future.
