Nokia announces the Lumia 900

Meet the 4G-packing bigger brother of the Lumia 800

Nokia's big CES announcement was this pumped up version of the Nokia Lumia 800 – otherwise known as the much-rumoured Nokia Lumia 900. New features include a humongous 4.3in ClearBlack screen but fans of the Lumia 800's gorgeous unibody polycarbonate build will be glad to know that it made the cut this time round too.

The US-only handset (for now) is set to pack LTE but lest that drain the Lumia 900's battery to smithereens, Nokia's stuck a hefty 1,830mAh battery inside to keep 4G browsing ticking over all day.

And there's a 1.4Ghz single-core processor powering the Windows Phone OS – as Stephen Elop points out, cores aren't everything.

Also new for the Lumia 900 is a front facing camera – it's a 1.3MP wide angled snapper for video calling that Nokia reckons could give most main smartphone cameras a run for their money. Round back, you've got an 8MP Carl Zeiss f/ 2.2 camera too.
