LG G Pro 3 expected to offer 6in 2K screen

Are these the specs for the company’s next high-end phablet?

It’s high time LG launched a successor to its G Pro 2 phablet, and if reports are correct, an announcement might not be too far away.

According to MobiPicker’s sources (unnamed, of course), the G Pro 3 is already in production and will be unveiled later this year. If we had to guess, we’d say you can expect to see it around September. LG announced the G Pro 2 at Mobile World Congress 2014, so it’s already been almost a year and a half since the Korean company delivered a high-end phablet.

Not only that, but MobiPicker claims to have the scoop on the device’s specifications – and they’re pretty darn impressive. The report claims the G Pro 3 will have a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked to around 3GHz, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, a 20.7MP camera, a fingerprint scanner, and a 6in 2K screen. Oh, and Android 5.1 Lollipop.

If true, that’d make the G Pro 3 more powerful than the current crop of premium phablets such as the Apple iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 – although those are both certain to get updated versions this autumn too.
