Elevate your flight sim setup with this handheld cockpit controller
The Honeycomb Aeronautical Echo Aviation Controller is ideal for wannabe pilots with limited space
Most people would struggle to fit the flight deck of a plane into their living room without at least moving the sofa, but the Honeycomb Aeronautical Echo Aviation Controller lets you leave all the furniture exactly where it is.
Designed for Microsoft Flight Simulator and other similarly nerdy pilot ’em ups, it swaps a lot of the standard buttons and sticks found on a normal gamepad for sliders, switches and paddles more suited to adjusting the throttle, flaps, rudders and other stuff necessary to fly a virtual plane.
You can customise the look of them to make it easier to remember what each one does, plus there’s also a conical joystick for controlling the camera.
It connects to your PC either via a USB cable or, if you’re looking for maximum sofa compatibility, using a wireless dongle. If you do choose to fly unplugged the battery lasts up to 15 hours, which is plenty for all but the very longest routes.
The Echo Aviation Controller also comes with its own hard shell case, so you can keep it safe when you’re not taking to the virtual skies.
It’ll set you back $150 in the US but there’s no UK pricing available yet.
