Panerai launches five new Luminors at Watches and Wonders 2026 – including a world-first 31-day power reserve
Panerai goes back to its roots at Watches and Wonders 2026, with five new Luminors that celebrate the brand's military past
Panerai has unveiled five new watches at Watches and Wonders 2026. All five are hand-wound tool watches rooted in the brand’s military heritage.
The collection draws directly from Panerai’s history as a supplier to the Royal Italian Navy. Long before “tool watch” became a marketing term, Panerai was building diving instruments for Italian Navy commandos. These latest watches are a love letter to that era.
The headline piece is the Luminor 31 Giorni PAM01631. It is the first watch in Panerai’s history to offer a massive 31-day power reserve. That is not a typo. Wind it once, and it runs for an entire month.

The feat took seven years of research by Panerai’s in-house R&D team, the Laboratorio di Idee. The new P.2031/S movement achieves its extraordinary autonomy through four barrels housing a combined 3.3 metres of mainspring.
Just 128 turns of the crown is all it takes. A clever Torque Limiter system ensures consistent timekeeping throughout, cutting the operational window to a reliable 31 days from a theoretical 36. After 31 days, the movement stops automatically to protect itself. It’s all very smart.
The watch is housed in a 44mm Goldtech case, Panerai’s proprietary gold-copper alloy, with a skeletonised dial that puts the extraordinary movement on full display. It is a limited edition of just 200 pieces.

More accessible are the Luminor PAM01731 and Luminor Destro PAM01732. Both are 44mm steel watches powered by the manufacture P.6000 calibre with a three-day power reserve. They are direct tributes to the iconic Ref. 6152/1 of the 1960s, with that case’s 47mm cushion geometry scaled down to a more wearable 44mm for the first time.
The PAM01732 (pictured above) is the more unusual of the two. A Destro, meaning the crown-protecting bridge sits on the left side of the case. This was originally designed so Navy divers could wear the watch on their right wrist, freeing the left hand to operate instruments like a compass.

The Luminor 8 Giorni PAM01733 introduces a new surface treatment called Brunito to the collection. Starting with a black PVD coating on steel, each case is then worked by hand with a directional brushing technique that gradually reveals the metal beneath. The result mimics the natural wear of military equipment.
Finally, two 47mm references return the Luminor to its original case size. The Luminor PAM01735 is a polished steel watch with a warm ivory gradient dial. It’s Panerai’s interpretation of the coveted “tropical dial” effect beloved by vintage collectors.

The Luminor Forged Titanium PAM01629 is a more radical proposition and a genuine first for the brand. Forged titanium, created by bonding two grades of titanium under heat and a forging hammer, produces a unique wave-like surface pattern.
No two cases look identical. The result is 40-percent lighter than steel, strikingly beautiful, and unlike anything Panerai has done before. It is limited to just 100 pieces.
