G-Shock and Bamford London’s latest collab might be my favourite yet

G-SHOCK and Bamford London return with their sharpest collab yet, putting a steel-cased, Bamford-blue spin on the iconic 5600

G-Shock and Bamford London are at it again, and this new collab might be their strongest to date. The pair have taken another run at the classic 5600, giving it the Bamford treatment without losing the tough-as-nails charm that’s made the square a cult staple.

This is the third time G-Shock and Bamford have teamed up on a limited edition watch, and this time they’re taking a stab at a steel-cased model.

The new watch once again uses Bamford’s signature blue, which pops against the upgraded black steel case of the 5600. I think it looks great.

The last two editions sold out quickly, so there’s every chance this one will vanish just as fast. And the brands clearly know it, because they’re turning the launch into something more playful than a standard online release.

From 5 to 8 December, they’re taking over Meera Newsagents in Soho and turning it into a Konbini-inspired space that nods to G-Shock’s Japanese roots. Everyday items will be reworked as limited-edition collectables, cereal boxes, tins, and other bits you wouldn’t normally glance at twice have all been dressed up in highly collectable packaging.

It sounds like the pop-up will blur the line between retail and art installation, and it should be a fun stop even if you’re not hunting for a new watch.

Alongside the collab itself, you’ll be able to shop exclusive apparel, accessories, and a handful of gifts made just for the pop-up.

George Bamford calls this release the “holy trinity” of the series. “To work on this watch with the upgraded steel case is a really great next step in the design evolution of this watch. I’m really excited to be working on this project.’’ “

If you want first dibs, head to Meera Newsagents on Marshall Street. It’s open 1pm and 7pm on Friday, 12pm and 6pm over the weekend, and 1pm and 5pm on Monday.

After that, the G-Shock x Bamford 5600 lands online from 9 December for £279 (approx. US$365), and you’ll find it at the usual suspects: G-Shock, Chisholm Hunter, Beaverbrooks, Goldsmiths, Dover Street Market, and Selfridges.
