How to watch NBA basketball live, wherever you are

Want to catch the world’s top ballers in the regular season, playoffs and more? Here’s how

watch NBA

Want to stream live matches from the NBA’s regular season, playoffs, and championship? Here’s how you can do it in the US, UK and Europe.

Basketball has become one of the most popular sports in the world, which isn’t bad for a sport that exists largely in the US (shout out to Serbia, Lithuania and Estonia, though). Basketball has produced many global legends, with teams like the Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers evolving into cultural icons that have transcended the sport.

With the new NBA season just starting, now is a perfect time to get your subscription sorted. So, whether you’re a New York Knicks fan from the north of England, or watch the Boston Celtics from Birmingham Alabama, here’s how you can catch the action this season.

Key dates in the NBA 2023/24 season

The NBA regular season for 2023/24 commenced on 24 October and will end on 14 April 2024. This season, a new in-season tournament will be held for the first time between 3 November and 9 December, with all games, except for the finals, counting towards the regular season standings. The 2024 NBA All-Star Game will occur on 18 February at Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The Play-In tournament kicks on 16 April and runs through 19 April. These games will determine each conference’s seventh and eighth seed that makes the playoffs. The playoffs themselves begin on 20 April. The NBA Finals commence on 6 June, with a possible Game 7 scheduled for 23 June.

How to watch NBA games on TV

USA

TNT, ESPN, ABC, NBA TV, and ESPN Radio will cover the NBA season. NBA TV and NBA League Pass will broadcast games internationally. The cost of accessing these channels in the U.S. varies significantly based on your preferences.

DIRECTV, for example, offers access to ABC, ESPN, TNT, NBA TV, and NBA League Pass for a monthly charge between $100 and $150. Alternatively, Sling TV provides access to ESPN, TNT, NBA TV, and NBA League Pass for $40 to $55 per month, but local coverage may be limited.

UK and Europe

Basketball enthusiasts in the UK and Ireland have a reason to rejoice. TNT Sports, formerly BT Sports, has signed a multi-year deal to broadcast 250 live NBA games throughout the regular season. This is a big increase from the previous years, and fans can expect to see some of the biggest names in basketball take to the court in these live matches.

With this new agreement, followers of the sport can catch up on all the latest action and keep track of their favorite teams throughout the season. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or a casual observer, this is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of NBA basketball right from the comfort of your home.

If you live in Europe, coverage will depend on your location. However, if your country’s TV services don’t offer live NBA broadcasts, you still have another option – NBA League Pass.

Streaming with NBA League Pass

NBA League Pass

If you are a die-hard basketball fan, NBA League Pass is the perfect solution. It provides a vast range of content and is accessible globally (and even in places where it isn’t, you can take the help of VPNs). The pricing of the service varies based on your location.

In the UK, League Pass offers an initial free seven-day trial, after which you can subscribe for £99.99 for the season or £14.99 a month. With the subscription, you will have access to 24/7 NBA TV coverage and the ability to stream every game live or on-demand.

If you want to stream the content on two devices simultaneously, the Premium League Pass is available for £139.99 per season or £19.99 per month. Additionally, if you are only interested in watching games of your favorite team, you can opt for a single-team League Pass, which costs £94.99 per season.

You can access NBA League Pass via a web browser or the NBA App, which is available on Android, iOS, Android TV, Apple TV, Xbox One and Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Roku, Chromecast, Amazon Fire TV and Fire Stick, and even on Apple Watch and CarPlay. However, some of these options may only work in specific locations.
