Icon – Leica D-Lux 5 Titanium

If anything less than titanium makes you sneeze, we've got just the compact for you

A special edition Leica compact? Sounds like I’ll want one but won’t… need one.

Exactly, which means we’ll probably buy at least two. You’re looking at the same specs as the Leica D-Lux 5 compact but packaged instead in titanium styling. The snapper includes a 10.1MP CCD sensor, HD video capture capabilities and a 3in LCD screen.

Back to looks. That’s why Leica’s released the thing, right?

Other than the silver-grey finish, Leica is throwing in a grey calf leather case with shoulder strap (usually you’ll see these in brown). you can also pick up a D-Lux 5 handgrip, D-Lux 5 electronic viewfinder and CF 22 flash unit to accessorise your compact.

OK, and I can take great shots of myself with it?

Of course – and if you’re distracted by the, erm, wider world then you’ll appreciate the Leica zoom lens with focal length range of 24 to 90mm. There are also plenty of manual settings if you decide your D-Lux 5 is more than just something good-looking to sling over your shoulder.
