RIP Facebook Poke

Poke me. Actually, don't. Who does that any more?

Okay, it’s not actually dead. But Facebook has quietly tucked away the Poke feature to a little cubby hole. It’s now in a drop down menu once you’ve clicked on the white gear icon on your friends’ profile pages.

The new position might sound a little extreme but since Facebook is going to be announcing a bunch of music and entertainment features and content this week at the f8 developers’ conference, they’ve got to make room. Just think of it as Facebook culling one of its old friends – the Poke button made bad jokes, said the word banter a lot and hit on everyone’s girlfriends. It was only a matter of time.
