Schneider Optics iPro Lens adds 2x zoom to the iPhone 4S

We’ve been banging on about this for years, but just in case you didn’t get the memo digital zooms aren’t worth the photo paper their pixellated results are printed on. Bad news if you’re thinking of relying on your smartphone for snaps.

If you’ve got an iPhone 4S, though, the iPro Lens from Schneider Optics could be your optical zoom saviour, offering 2x scaling of your Apple snapper’s viewpoint without dropping any pixels.

There are already two other lenses – a 10mm (equivalent) fisheye and a 24mm wide-angle – in the iPro system, which uses a bespoke aluminum case with a bayonet mount. The lenses have precision crafted aluminum barrels, heavy glass, and high quality multi-layer coatings.

The iPro Tele Lens will be available in April for around US$100 or it can be purchased with the iPro Lens System.
