This Sony WH-1000XM6 deal knocks £70 off our favourite noise-cancelling headphones on Amazon

We called them the new gold standard for ANC headphones – and this Amazon deal drops the price to £329

Sony WH1000XM6 review

If you’ve been waiting for a Sony WH-1000XM6 deal, this one’s worth a look – Amazon has dropped the flagship noise-cancelling headphones to £329, saving £70 on one of the best headphones we’ve ever tested.

Amazon has cut the price from the usual £399 as part of its Spring Deals Day event, which means you’re getting an 18 per cent discount on a pair of over-ears that we described as the new gold standard for noise-cancelling headphones in our review.

As for why you should be excited? Well, Sony’s WH-1000X series has dominated the premium ANC headphone space for years, and the XM6 continues that legacy with a series of thoughtful refinements. One of the biggest changes is the return of the folding design, bringing back the travel-friendly hinges that many fans missed on the XM5.

Sound quality remains a standout. Sony has equipped the XM6 with new 30mm drivers featuring a rigid carbon-fibre dome, designed to deliver crisp highs while keeping bass controlled and punchy.

In our testing, they handled an eclectic playlist with ease. Tool’s Pneuma sounded huge and detailed, with every rapid-fire drum hit landing with precision, while Voyager’s Promise and Electric Callboy’s Pump It and Hypa Hypa showcased their ability to balance heavy bass, guitars and vocals without things becoming muddy. Even more delicate tracks like Agnes Obel’s Riverside came through with impressive space and clarity.

Elsewhere, the noise-cancelling performance also impresses. The headphones use 12 microphones alongside Sony’s new QN3 noise-cancelling processor, which Sony says is seven times faster than the previous generation. The result is incredibly effective noise cancelling that can make the outside world almost disappear.

Battery life is strong too, with up to 30 hours of listening with ANC switched on, plus a quick-charge feature that delivers around three hours of playback from just three minutes of charging.

Comfort hasn’t been overlooked either. Weighing 252g with soft earcups and a well-balanced fit, the XM6 remain comfortable enough for long listening sessions at home or on long-haul flights.

At their usual £399 price, the Sony WH-1000XM6 are already among the best wireless headphones you can buy. With this Sony WH-1000XM6 deal bringing them down to £329, they’re even easier to recommend.
