Rolex just teased its biggest Oyster release yet – and it marks 100 years
Rolex has dropped its second teaser for Watches and Wonders 2026 – and it looks like the 100th anniversary of the Oyster is getting a very special watch
Rolex has released a second teaser video ahead of Watches and Wonders 2026. It hints at several new watches – and one of them could be the most significant Oyster Perpetual in the brand’s history.
The star of the teaser appears to be a special anniversary Oyster Perpetual. It celebrates 100 years since Rolex launched the world’s first waterproof watch. The watch features a steel case and bracelet, but with a solid yellow gold bezel and crown. It’s a combination we haven’t really seen before, and I think it looks genuinely striking.
In the video, the dial appears to carry the “100 years” text, with the same marking on the crown. It’s a bold way to mark the milestone, and, if this makes it through to the production model, this could be one of the most hyped Rolex releases in years.
Now, of course, the Oyster Perpetual is Rolex’s entry-level line, so adding gold elements to it is an interesting move – it pushes it upmarket while keeping the steel case. Whether that works for fans of the range remains to be seen. Personally, I think the contrast of steel and gold looks great here.
The teaser also hints at a new Day-Date. The 50th anniversary of Rolex’s flagship watch appears to be marked with a green ombré dial, fading from black on the outer edge to green at the centre. It looks spectacular, and very much in keeping with Rolex’s signature anniversary colour.
There are also glimpses of what looks like a new Daytona. A steel version, judging by the number of dots on the crown, complete with a sapphire caseback and red highlights catching the light.
Perhaps the most surprising tease is a new Yacht-Master. The pushers and bezel design suggest it could combine elements of the discontinued Yacht-Master 2 with a more traditional dive-style bezel. A white gold case with a blue bezel seems likely. Rolex quietly killed off the Yacht-Master 2 last year, so any successor will attract serious attention.
The video dropped today on Rolex’s social media channels. It arrives just two days before Watches and Wonders 2026. We will be on the ground in Geneva checking out all the new releases in person. Full hands-on coverage lands on 14 April.
