Rimac Concept One goes on sale

Rimac's electric supercar goes into production – but you'll need US$980,000 to show off your green credentials

We’ve covered Croatian firm Rimac’s stunning-looking Concept One electric supercar before – but the big news is it’s a concept no longer. Yup, the Concept One is now going into production and Rimac’s taking pre-orders – though you’ll need deep pockets if you want to get your hands on one, as the asking price is US$980,000. You’ll also need to be quick, as Rimac’s only making 88 cars starting next year.

Still, it does go like greased lightning – the Concept One’s four electric motors pump out a combined output of 1088hp and 2800lb ft of torque. Rimac claims that it’ll go from 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 190mph. The quoted range is 372 miles on a single charge, though you won’t be able to push it to the limit for the whole distance.

We’ll take two.
