Although the spokesperson wouldn't confirm an exact date, he did confirm we would see the handset in Carphone Warehouse stores in June. It's not clear if Carphone Warehouse will have the week's exclusivity period originally reported.
As for whether we would see the phone on the network with any other retailers, O2 were pretty tight lipped, but it sounded probable. We'll keep you updated with anything we get.
O2 customers looking forward to the release of the N97 may well be able to get their hands on it before anyone else.
Mobile Today is reporting that O2 has bagged a week's exclusivity on the highly-anticipated handset, and will be getting it on its shelves a whole seven days before anyone else, on 15 June.
Carphone Warehouse will be able to start pushing the phone out its doors from 23 June, offering it for free on £45 contracts with O2 or Orange.
Vodafone customers need not panic – the phone will also be launched on the network from July.
If you were hoping of bagging the handset SIM-free and sans contract, you'll need to cough up a massive £690, so get saving now.
