Nokia Lumia 735 Windows Phone is available from next month

Microsoft’s new mid-range model features the Cortana personal assistant and a 5MP front-facing camera

Microsoft has announced that its next Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 735, will be available in the UK from 2nd October.

The Lumia 735 is a mid-range model with a 4.7in 1280 x 720 OLED screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable on-board storage and 30GB of OneDrive cloud storage.

Wireless charging is an optional extra for the Lumia 735

It also comes with Windows Phone 8.1, which means you get access to the beta version of Microsoft’s Siri-baiting Cortana personal assistant, as well as a 5MP wide-angle front-facing camera to satisfy the needs of selfie-addicted tweens. The main camera has a 6.7MP sensor, Zeiss optics and an f/1.9 aperture.

There’s a 2220mAh battery and, should you fit the optional charging shell, the ability to use a wireless charging plate.

The Lumia 735 will be available from “all major retailers” from around £20 a month on contract (no SIM free price has been given at the time of writing), in several colours including bright orange, bright green, white and dark grey.
