Maserati Alfieri concept is just what we want from a sports coupé
The Italian company's best-looking car in decades? Yes, we think so

Maserati has unveiled its latest concept – and we’re crossing our fingers, toes and everything else we have more than one of in the hope that it becomes a real-life production car.
The Alfieri (named after one of the brothers that founded the company), the car is a 2+2 coupé with a 4.7-litre V8 engine delivering 460bhp. In other words, a true sports car and a rival to the likes of the Jaguar F-Type and Porsche 911.
The future of Maserati?
The car’s shape and wheels are inspired by the 1954 Maserati A6GCS, but Maserati insists that it isn’t just a piece of nostalgic frippery designed to get premium petrolheads all misty-eyed – it’s a modern car that represents the future of the company while tipping its hat to the past.
To that end, Maserati is now considering whether to bring the beautiful beast to public roads as a production car. For now it’ll have to be content with wowing attendees of the Geneva Motor Show, but who knows: in the near future you could see an Alfieri (or a car very much like it) rolling down your local high street.
