Touchpads are all well and good but sometimes the road warrior needs a trusty mouse to be his finger steed. Sony's been thinking the same thing and brought out this little lot that not only take care of your portable pointer needs but inject a bit of colour at the same time.Complementing its new colourful CR Vaios and Dell's new Inspirons rather delightfully - or clashing in a garish combo depending on your laptop/mouse selection - the C3 loses the trackball for a fairly average 800dpi optical sensor and packs a USB cable for easy hook up.And Sony's not been feeding it too well either. At 3cm tall it's slightly smaller than your average free range desktop mouse - all the better for slipping into your laptop bag.But for the ultimate in Sony portability there's the even flatter, if less colourful, M10. Starved from birth, it rises to a mere 1.5cm and gets a grooved edge for wrapping its chord around when in transit. It's a hardy beast though with a scratch resistant coating that'll take the knocks. Brave little soul.EssentialsSony SMU-C3, SMU-M10Price: £20On sale: NowContact: SonyRelated stories:Dell's bright new InspironsSony's CR Vaios add a splash of colourGLaser Mouse likes glass, hates cheese
