Fans of reading rejoice – the Cool-er eBook reader has hopped into bed with Google Books to create the “world’s biggest online eBook store”.

Starting today, Coolerbooks.com will pack a Google API for public domain titles from the Google Books index. All the titles will be free to download, and it means that Coolerbook.com will have its catalogue boosted with over 1m tomes Google’s stash.

Consumers in the UK, however, will only see half of these pop up on their eBooks, due to licensing restrictions. That’s still 500,000 titles to get through though.

Cool-er is promising that by the end of the year there will be a whopping 2m titles available on its store, which can also accommodate over 19 formats, including PDF and MP3 for audiobooks.

We’re still waiting to hear how many will be available in Blighty, but we’re sure it’ll be enough to keep us occupied with our Horlicks…
