BBC iPlayer adds Live Restart and Live Pause

Now you can time travel back to the start of a Doctor Who episode – without needing a TARDIS

The BBC iPlayer has been given a spit and polish, and now comes with new Live Pause and Live Restart features. They’ll be familiar to anyone who owns a PVR – Live Restart lets you pop back to the beginning of a programme that’s currently airing, while Live Pause pauses the action.

The BBC Internet Blog points out that, unlike a conventional PVR, the iPlayer’s Live Restart function doesn’t require you to previously have been watching or recording the programme in order to restart it from the beginning. That’s good news for those of us who aren’t organised enough to plan their evening’s viewing.
