Acer’s laptop garage has just vibrated to the roar of two new Ferraris, both of which sport speedy dual-core engines.
Replacing the 4000 model, the Ferrari 5000 on the left is the flagship racer, with a 15.4in screen, up to a 160GB hard-drive and offers the choice of a dual-layer DVD drive or an HD-DVD drive.
It also sports the sort of connectivity that could help you convince onlookers you’re the fulcrum of the F1 team – there’s a VOIP phone, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 for connecting to wireless headphones.
Our new favourite, though, is the Ferrari 1000 ultraportable. It’s got a 12.1in, WXGA (1280x800 pixel) screen, up to a 160GB hard-drive, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth all crammed into its tiny body. And, unlike earlier models, it’s resisted the temptation to cover itself in the team’s gaudy red colouring, and instead gone for a more refined look.
Both models will be available from 27th June, although prices have yet to be announced – we’ll keep you updated.
