If recession has crushed your 2009 dream of owning a Ferrari, Acer have announced a brand new addition to their black horse branded notebooks.

The ultra-portable laptop offers a classy 12.1in LCD display with white LED backlight and top notch build quality inspired, apparently, by Formula One racers.

From the carbon fibre casing and anodised metal touchpad to the ‘velvety’ texture and ventilation system allegedly based on F1 car exhaust pipes, the Ferrari 1200 drips showy class.

And just like the car it’s pretty nippy. An AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core processor, 4GB of memory and an M780G integrated graphics chipset should have you roaring through that, er, PowerPoint presentation.

You’ll also find a multi-format DVD drive, biometric fingerprint reader, webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a wireless mouse. There’s also an optional Xpress VoIP phone so you can show charity to your poorer friends by calling them gratis over the internet.

No word on availability or cost yet but expect a hefty pricepoint.
