Razer hid two wireless chargers inside a laptop sleeve. It’s actually a great idea
Charge your phone and earbuds straight from the flap – and leave the extra cables in your bag
Razer’s new 16-inch laptop sleeve has a rather clever trick up its, err, sleeves, in the form of two built-in MagSafe-compatible wireless chargers.
Cleverly hidden in the flap, the sleeve lets you place your laptop on top of it, before opening the flap and charging extras like your compatible phone or earbuds.
While the charging speeds aren’t exactly groundbreaking (understandably, given the constraints of heat, etc.), one 15W pad and another 5W should still be enough for an easy top-up.
Power is delivered via USB-C, with 30W recommended for the best performance. You could hook it up to a dedicated 30W charger, but you might as well plug it into your laptop for the cleanest setup.
The MagSafe tech means that lining things up should be easy enough, while a padded microfibre-lined interior, woven polyester exterior, and reinforced edges should offer a safe haven for any notebook up to 16 inches in size.
If you fancy paying a premium for all of the above, you’ll be pleased to hear that you can snap up the aptly-named Razer Laptop Sleeve 16 with Wireless Charging for Devices for $129.99 / £129.99, directly from Razer.
Granted, that’s quite an asking price, so if you’d rather save some cash and stick with your ordinary laptop sleeve, you’re welcome to check out our collection of the best wireless chargers instead. Sure, it won’t be as clean a setup, but think of all the extra cash you’ll have rattling around in your coffee fund.
And if you must insist on a Razer-branded case for those sweet, sweet gamer street cred points, you can grab the same laptop sleeve, minus the fancy charging tech, for $79.99 / £79.99.
