TAG Heuer's new Indy 500 watch is solar-powered and limited to 1110 pieces

Just weeks after TAG Heuer launched pastel Formula 1 Solargraph watches, the Swiss brand has launched a new limited edition watch to mark its partnership with the Indianapolis 500. It’s called the Formula 1 Solargraph X Indy 500, and honestly, it’s a must-buy for IndyCar fans.

This is the thirteenth time TAG Heuer has collaborated with the Indy 500. Thirteen editions in, they’ve clearly found their groove. I’m not really an IndyCar follower, but I really like this watch.

The Solargraph X Indy 500 is 38mm in diameter, which makes it smaller and more wearable than a lot of sport watches out there. TAG Heuer says that size is a deliberate nod to the growing number of women engaging with motorsport culture. I love these new Formula 1 watches, and the proportions genuinely look great of all wrists.

The dial is deep black with a brown minuterie (that’s the minute track running around the edge) and it works really well. The Indy 500 logo sits on the dial and the caseback, alongside a brick pattern referencing the famous ‘Yard of Bricks’ finish line at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The sandblasted steel case gives it a purposeful, almost industrial feel.

Inside, the Solargraph calibre runs on light – both natural or artificial. One minute of direct sunlight powers it for a full day. A full charge takes under 40 hours and keeps it running for up to ten months in complete darkness. The accumulator lasts up to fifteen years.

It’s limited to 1110 pieces, and the packaging features the Indy 500 logo, which rounds off the whole experience nicely.

Pricing sits at $2250 in the US and £1900 in the UK. It’s available from today, 11 May 2026.
