Sony’s full-frame A7R III gets an extra shot of speed

Meet the best Sony camera ever, part three

Even Usain Bolt had to put in extra training to stay ahead of the competition, and it’s no different for Sony’s brilliant, full-frame A7R cameras. They were already super-speedy, but after an intense training camp the new A7R III (£3200, due November 2017) has emerged promising autofocus that’s twice as fast as its predecessor and continuous shooting at 10fps (up from 5fps). Of course, it still has the same incredible 35mm 42.4MP sensor for capturing insane amounts of detail, which you can gawp at on its new touchscreen. All you have to do now is convince Santa to get you one present for the next ten Christmases.

About

Mark's first review for Stuff was the Nokia N-Gage in 2004. Luckily, his career lasted a little longer than the taco phone, and he's been trying to figure out how gadgets fit back into their boxes ever since. While his 'Extreme Mark Wilson' persona was retired following a Microsoft skydiving incident, this means he can often be spotted in the wilds of South West London testing action cams, drones and smartwatches, and occasionally cursing at them.
