Apple’s folding iPhone Ultra just leaked again

Early accessories hint at a slimmer design, dual cameras, and one missing iPhone feature

Apple’s long-rumoured folding phone (aka the iPhone Ultra) has just taken another step towards reality – because the first third-party cases for it have already started showing up online.

According to a report from French Apple site iPhoneSoft, accessory maker iFunSmart has begun listing protective cases for Apple’s unreleased foldable handset. And while accessory renders should always be taken with a generous dose of salt, these kinds of leaks do often end up surprisingly close to the final design.

The designs line up closely with earlier dummy units shared by leaker Sonny Dickson back in April. The cases show a book-style folding iPhone with a fairly slim body, a raised rear camera strip containing two lenses, and a split-shell design that clips onto each half of the folding chassis separately.

Interestingly, the renders also appear to support rumours that Apple could skip a telephoto camera on its first foldable iPhone. There are only two rear camera cutouts visible, which matches previous reports suggesting Apple is prioritising thinness over a triple-camera setup.

There’s another interesting detail too – the cases include a circular magnetic ring for MagSafe-style accessories, but that doesn’t necessarily confirm that the phone itself supports MagSafe. Previous rumours have suggested that Apple could leave the feature out entirely to save internal space. If true, the magnets could simply be built into the accessory itself for compatibility with chargers and car mounts.

Current rumours suggest that Apple’s foldable iPhone could feature a roughly 5.5-inch outer display and a 7.8-inch inner screen, along with an A20-series chip, 12GB of RAM, dual 48MP rear cameras, and Touch ID built into the side button instead of Face ID. Leaks also point to an extremely thin design – potentially around 4.5mm when unfolded – although exact dimensions remain unclear.

The device is widely expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro range in late 2026, with pricing reportedly starting at around $2000. Remember, nothing is official or confirmed until then, but we’ll keep you posted on all the news in the meantime.
