Never know if you’re drinking enough water? With this gadget, your toilet will tell you

Vivoo's smart toilet tracker will measure how hydrated you are by analysing your pee. But the best part? It's price

Struggle to keep on top of drinking enough water every day? Most hydration tracking methods fall somewhere between “guessing” and “expensive.” I tried Withing’s U-Scan pee monitor, which offered even more health insights than just hydration. But this health tracker didn’t come cheap at $380, with a subscription for new filters required as well.

That’s why Vivoo’s new Smart Toilet sensor caught my eye at CES 2026. It promises to give you actual hydration data from your wee, all for a much lower one-time cost.

This clip-on gadget sits quietly on the back of your bog, waiting for you to do your business, then turns your… output into data input. It uses optical sensors to scan your urine as it passes by (don’t worry, it’s all very sanitary and not gross, allegedly), measuring something called urine specific gravity to work out how hydrated you are. It does this without you ever needing to stick a strip in the loo or handle a cartridge.

How? It’s all done with lightwave tech, which is apparently quite clever and very accurate. Once a scan is complete, the results are pinged back to the Vivoo companion app in seconds. The whole thing runs on a battery pack that powers over 1000 tests per cycle. The device also supports up to 15 users, so unless your family is bigger than a football team, everyone can get involved without mix-ups.

Hydration is tied to everything from energy and metabolism to skin and brain fog, knowing where you stand might actually help you feel better. What makes Vivoo’s tracker different from all the other overpriced porcelain throne sensors is that this one only costs $99. It still offers clinical-grade hydration tracking into your daily routine, with self-cleaning and a no-touch design.

The Vivoo Smart Toilet tracker begins shipping in March with its first batch priced at $99 with no subscription required. A second $99 batch will follow in June, and from September, general availability kicks off at $129 (still cheaper than most).
