The best Christmas jumpers on all the internet

Seasonal knitwear has been getting a lot of attention so we picked the best of the lot and sprinkled them with a few laughs

Wakeify

£free Google Play

Mornings might be that little bit easier if you were woken from your slumber by your favourite album, rather than a brash alarm tone. Wakeify allows you to do just that with your Spotify tunes, provided you have a premium Spotify subscription. Select multiple songs for Wakify to select at random, adjust the duration of ‘snooze’ and set the volume you want the alarm to sound at – you can even have it start quiet and increase over time to wake you up slowly.

Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror

£2.99 Google Play

Following on from the excellent Broken Sword: Director’s Cut, the remastered Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror has been unleashed on to Google Play. It sees the return of the two characters from the last game, George Stobbard and Nico Collard, who uncover a little more than they were expecting while investigating a drug gang. A rather neat twist is the Dropbox integration for game saving, which allows you to carry on gaming across multiple devices.

Nike Training Club

£free Google Play

Right now, it’s the season to eat everything in sight and do absolutely nothing about it. Until 1st January, that is, when the gyms will be packed with New Year Resolutioners aiming to shift a few pounds. Skip the crowds and use this app from Nike instead. There are more than 114 custom workouts of between 30-45 minutes, built around goals and the fundamentals of strength, cardio, interval and core training. Most of them you can do at home with just a few bits of equipment, and there are even some bonus workouts from professional athletes and celebrity trainers too.

Vocre

£1.86 Google Play

Vocre is a new translation app that enables you to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t speak the same language. With a ‘table top’ interface for easy use by two people at once, the app features speech recognition from Nuance so you can simply say what you like and have it translated – into speech and text – for your foreign friend to understand. The languages it can translate are vast – from Mandarin to Czech – so you shouldn’t ever be stuck for conversation.

Football Manager Handheld

£6.99 Google Play

The world’s best-selling – and most addictive – football management game is back for another season, putting your management skills to the test at the head of your very own football team. Choose your club from the leagues across 14 countries, with fully up to date player data for this season. Whether you fancy a full-time or part-time commute-shaped commitment to the game, there are different modes to suit, as well as new in-app purchases for optional extras and new challenges.

Other notable releases: Facebook has updated its Android app, dropping HTML5 in favour of a speedier native build, and after a small delay, GTA: Vice City is now available on the Google Play store.
