According to 1Up, who have spoken to sources “directly involved with the project”, the PSP 2 will actually be dubbed the PSP Go!, falling into line with their Go!View and Go!Cam accessories.

Word is the device will retain the sliding style we’ve heard about, but not pack twin analogue sticks or a multitouch screen. UMD won’t be on board though, with a download store offering 100 classic games, including Gran Turismo Mobile.

Plans are afoot for two editions – one with 8GB and the other rocking 16GB for those after more titles.

Sony is said to be plotting an announcement at E3, with a Japanese release pencilled in for September. The Big S is maintaining its line of not commenting on “rumours and speculations.”

It seems though, that this is on the cards for summer and we can’t wait. What do you think? Tell us in the comments section.
