Polaroid’s Socialmatic instant camera has Android super powers

That’s right – Polaroid has added Android brains to its photography arsenal

Polaroid has revealed the Socialmatic – an Android-infused camera with a built-in ZINK printer for instant on-the-go photo gratification.

Its two cameras – a front-facing 14MP affair and a 2MP one for selfies – capture shots which can then be manipulated with effects and filters from the Google Play store to your heart’s content.

Once your photos have been well and truly hipster-fied then you can print out an honest-to-goodness physical photo with the in-built printer or virtually share your snaps on whichever social network you like.

It’ll need Polaroid’s special ZINK paper – comprised of heat-activated coloured layers embedded within it – to work and it’ll be out in ‘early 2014’ for an undisclosed price. Stay tuned.
